West Oxfordshire District Council in partnership with leisure operator and charitable social enterprise Better have agreed a new winter timetable for council-owned swimming pools that will help protect leisure centres in the face of this winter’s huge spike in utility costs.

West Oxfordshire District Council has today launched a consultation on the plans for its budget for the next financial year as the council looks to manage the increased costs of inflation to continue to deliver local services and invest in the district.

Over 1,300 trees are being planted across West Oxfordshire through the collaborative efforts of the District Council and local volunteer groups to celebrate the Queen’s Green Canopy initiative. Launched last year to honour the now late Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee, the project encourages individuals and communities across the UK to plant more trees to create a lasting living legacy for generations to come.
