A new county-wide programme will support families with children on benefits-related free school meals to access a wide range of low cost and free activities.

The Council’s Cabinet, this week, approved the use of land and funding to allow a new development in Walterbush Road, Chipping Norton which will deliver eight custom-build homes on the site that are both net-zero carbon and affordable in a national first.

Householders in West Oxfordshire are being asked to check their refuse and recycling collections days over the Queen’s Jubilee bank holiday weekend - as well as after the celebrations have finished - to ensure they know when their bins and containers need to be presented at the kerbside for emptying.

At its Annual General Meeting today (18 May) the Council voted in a new leader and administration for West Oxfordshire District Council.

Children aged 5-11 years are being invited to design the starting flag for stage 6 of the Women’s Tour. The winner and their family will be given VIP access to the start of the race, a signed tour shirt and will also have the honour of waving the flag to start the stage, which starts at Chipping Norton on Saturday 11 June 2022. 

Communities organising celebrations for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee could be eligible for funding support from West Oxfordshire District Council. 

Residents of Chipping Norton will be centre stage at the start of Stage 6 of the Women’s Tour of Britain, as the highest town in the county hosts the start of the last day of the race on Saturday June 11th. The full route details were revealed today.
