Woodstock Open Air Pool 2026

Woodstock Open Air Pool makes a big splash with record summer visitor numbers

Woodstock Open Air Pool is enjoying one of its busiest summers yet, with more than 9,000 visits since opening for the season in May.

Councillor Tim Sumner, Executive Member for Arts, Culture and Sports, said: "It has been fantastic to see so many people making the most of Woodstock Open Air Pool this summer. Whether you're looking to keep active, spend time with family or simply enjoy the sunshine, the pool offers something for everyone. With plenty of the season still to come, I'd encourage anyone who hasn't visited yet to come along and enjoy this fantastic community facility."

The strong turnout reflects another successful season for the much-loved outdoor pool, helped by the warm weather and an extended 14-week programme that has given more people the chance to enjoy swimming outdoors.

The pool welcomed 8,436 visits in June and July, compared with 3,039 for the same period in 2025 and 1,570 in 2024, highlighting the growing popularity of the outdoor facility and the success of this year's extended summer season.

With the school holidays now underway, the pool is open every day with longer opening hours, giving residents and visitors even more opportunities to enjoy the warm weather, stay active and spend time outdoors.

The summer programme includes Swim for All sessions, lane swimming, Aqua Play, Family Fun Swims, Aqua Aerobics, pool parties and swimming lessons where available. Families can also enjoy the toddler splash pool, garden games on the lawn and the on-site café throughout the school holidays, making it an ideal place to spend a summer's day together.

As well as celebrating a successful summer at Woodstock, the council is committed to providing welcoming, high-quality leisure facilities across the district, following its £3.5million investment in local leisure centres for the coming five years, to help people of all ages stay active and enjoy healthy lifestyles.

With several weeks of the season still to come, residents and visitors are encouraged to make the most of everything the pool has to offer. Walk-in sessions are available each day, although booking in advance through the Better UK website or app is recommended during busy periods.
