West Oxfordshire District Council Cabinet 2022

West Oxfordshire District Council’s Cabinet to tour the district to help build community engagement with their local council

West Oxfordshire District Council Cabinet meetings, where key decisions are made for the local area in public, are going to be held in venues across the district to make it easier for people to take part in local democracy and have their say.

Councillor Duncan Enright, Deputy Leader of the Council, said; “We are really clear that this council belongs to the people of West Oxfordshire and so it is only right that we should do what we can to help make their local council as accessible as possible.

“The Cabinet meet once a month in public and make key decisions that affect the whole district as part of the operation of the Council. We want that process to be open, transparent and easy for local people to get involved with to have their say and see democracy in action.

“We will be holding Cabinet meetings across West Oxfordshire over the coming months which we hope will encourage more people to become involved and feel more like we are here to serve them.

“Along with our commitment to making sure council meetings are streamed live so anyone can watch them, we hope this will start to make West Oxfordshire District Council a more open and inclusive organisation.

“I would really encourage local people to turn up when the meetings are in their area and come along. We would love to see people there and would be really happy to talk to people about what matters to them. This is your Council”

The meetings will be held in towns across the district over the coming months with more details available on the Council’s website:
