Talented Witney schoolgirl designs winning Christmas card

The winner of West Oxfordshire District Council Chair’s Christmas card competition has been announced.

9 year old Kyrie from Tower Hill Community Primary School will see her design of a festive tree decorated with Santa hats and presents featured on the Chair’s official Christmas card this year. She said; “I thought that it wasn’t worth entering the competition as I never win anything.”

Councillor Andrew Coles, Chair of the District Council called on the talents of Tower Hill School, Witney to come up with their best designs for this festival season card. He said; “I received some amazing designs for consideration. All the entries were brilliant and were extremely hard to judge because of the excellent standard.”

Councillor Coles continued; “Kyrie won the competition for not just a well-designed card but also some very well thought out words we should all consider this Christmas such as “kind”, “courage”, and “peace”. Thank you and well done to all the pupils who produced such wonderful designs.”

Kyrie was awarded a book token to spend at a local bookshop and received a round of applause from her schoolmates when she received the prize from Councillor Coles during the Chair's visit to the school on Friday, November 24th, during a school assembly.
