Reshuffle for West Oxfordshire District Council Executive welcomes new face to Council leadership
A small reshuffle of members of the Council’s Executive has taken place with one Executive member leaving, one moving post and another joining the Executive.
Councillor Dan Levy has stepped down as Executive Member for Finance with Councillor Alaric Smith taking on the position having previously been serving as the Executive Member for Leisure and Major Projects.
Councillor Tim Sumner joins the Executive as the new Executive Member for Leisure and Major Projects.
Councillor Andy Graham, Leader of the Council, said, “I would like to thank Cllr Levy for his service as the Finance portfolio holder and he has done a fantastic job carefully managing the Council’s finances during what is a challenging time for local government.
“Cllr Smith will be a brilliant replacement to lead on the Council finances with his extensive professional experience in the finance sector.
“I am also very pleased to welcome Cllr Sumner to the Executive and he will be leading on the leisure and major projects portfolio. This is an incredibly important brief for delivering for the people of West Oxfordshire and I am very confident he will carry on Cllr Smith’s work and deliver great things for the District.”
The change in political leadership at Oxfordshire County Council has not resulted in any changes at West Oxfordshire District Council. While there are similar political alliances leading both organisations, the two councils have different leadership and the change at County Council has no implications for the alliance at West Oxfordshire.
