Get ready for a jam-packed summer programme at Woodstock Open Air Pool

Woodstock Open Air Pool will reopen from Saturday 25 May, with a busy summer activities programme. Following visitor feedback from last year, the pool will be trialing a revised May to September open season, offering a range of activities from pool parties and family swim sessions to lane swimming and garden games.

Cllr Tim Sumner, Executive Member for Leisure and Major Projects, said:

“As we start to see the weather improving and glimpses of summer on the horizon, we are excited to see Woodstock pool opening its doors to visitors for another season.

“This year, we are opening earlier, so those who enjoy cooler water can enjoy a refreshing swim before the summer heat arrives.

“Throughout the season, families will be able to enjoy a diverse activity programme that has been carefully curated by our leisure partners, GLL, and focused on the things that you have told us that you want to see in previous years.”

Matt Simmons, GLL’s Partnership Manager in West Oxfordshire, said, “It wouldn’t be summer in West Oxfordshire without Woodstock Open Air Pool and this year we’ll be offering all the usual fun-filled activities like swimming, aqua aerobics, senior swims and pool parties.

“On top of that, there are brilliant new activities for people to try such as mindfulness sessions and family fun swims. We’re also offering a fantastic selection of garden games such as Jenga, Swingball and badminton. There really is something for everyone!”

There will also be food and drink available to purchase on site this year, with Yellow Submarine running the centre’s café.

Sophie Bradley, Enterprise Manager at Yellow Submarine, said, “We are thrilled to announce the opening of our pop-up café at Woodstock's outdoor pool during the summer holiday period.

“This new venture not only provides swimmers with our delicious Life Changing Bakes and refreshing drinks, but also helps us spread awareness of our charity, supporting people with learning disabilities and autism to live life to the full. We look forward to serving the community and making a positive impact together with GLL.”

Woodstock Open Air Pool will remain open until Sunday 1 September. Opening times and activity information will be available soon on the Better UK website. Walk in sessions are available all day every day, but to avoid possible queues or oversubscribed sessions it is recommended that you book in advance online or via the Better UK app to avoid disappointment.
