Garden Waste Subscriptions for 2026/27 Now Open. Residents encouraged to renew early and enjoy simple, efficient kerbside recycling
Residents can now sign up for the 2026/27 Garden Waste Subscription Service, with the annual fee remaining at £52.50, or £2.18 per collection for this year.
The popular service offers a convenient and environmentally friendly way for households to recycle garden waste directly at the kerbside. With collections running throughout the gardening season, subscribers can dispose of grass cuttings, hedge trimmings and other green waste easily, without making trips to the recycling centre.
All garden waste collected on site is responsibly processed and fully recycled through approved facilities, ensuring it is diverted from landfill and repurposed into sustainable materials such as compost and soil improvers.
Smarter collections with in-cab technology
The service continues to benefit from advanced in-cab technology, which allows collection crews to instantly identify subscribed bins. This smart system improves route efficiency, reduces missed collections and ensures crews only empty bins that are registered to the service. This means for this year subscribers to the service will not be issued a licence.
Great value for convenient recycling
At £52.50 for the year, the Garden Waste Subscription Service remains excellent value and is the cheapest garden waste service in Oxfordshire, offering regular kerbside collections that save residents time and effort.
Cllr Lidia Arciszewska, Executive Member for Environment, commented “We’re committed to making it as easy as possible for residents to manage their garden waste responsibly. This service provides a convenient kerbside collection, with no increase in the annual subscription price, ensuring households can continue to dispose of garden waste in an affordable and environmentally responsible way.
By introducing in-cab technology, we’re also enabling faster, more accurate collections, improving reliability and efficiency for residents. Together, these improvements support our wider commitment to sustainability and delivering high-quality, value-for-money services for our communities.”
Garden waste must not be disposed of in general waste (grey/black) bins. Residents are encouraged to either subscribe to the council’s dedicated garden waste collection service, take items to a designated recycling centre or compost suitable materials at home.
