Executive Back on Tour in Chipping Norton
West Oxfordshire District Council’s Executive is on tour again next month as they take their 11 September Executive meeting to the Upper Hall at the Town Hall in Chipping Norton
Executive meetings, where key council decisions are made, will continue to tour across the district in 2024 to make it easier for people to take part in local democracy and have their say.
Executive on Tour has been improved for this year with more opportunities added for residents to work directly with the council leadership on locally important topics. These sessions will be run by specialists from the council and will ask residents to help input into key decisions. At Chipping Norton the topic of this engagement will Local Markets.
Councillor Andy Graham, Leader of the Council said, “We are really pleased with the response following our previous Executive on Tour meetings which saw good attendance and it was fantastic to see people coming to our meetings who don’t usually attend.
“We want the council decision making process to be open, transparent, and easy for local people to get involved with.
“We are trialling different times for our meetings in future, which we hope will make it easier for working people to become involved.
“I encourage local people to come along, and we look forward to talking to people about what matters to them.
The new engagement sessions we have added this year will enable us to work directly with residents on key projects. For our Chipping Norton meeting, we’ll be discussing our local markets, general economic development, and how we can invest and support our markets and their valuable contribution to local communities. So why not pop along and take part? Remember, this is your Council.”
The meetings will be held in towns across the district over the coming months with details to be published on the Council’s website as venues are confirmed closer to each meeting. The details for September's meeting are:
- 11 September 2024, Chipping Norton Town Hall, 2.30pm
This meeting’s Engagement Session will be Local Markets in West Oxfordshire and the session will start at 3.30pm
All meetings will be open for residents to attend without pre-booking. After the meeting, everyone is welcome to chat to our Executive members directly.
Each meeting has a standing agenda item for public participation, where residents can raise topics important to them.
