Dive into summer at Woodstock Open Air Pool!
Preparations have been in full swing at Woodstock Open Air Pool for its summer opening on Saturday 22 July.
Cllr Alaric Smith, Executive Member for Leisure and Major Projects, said, “Woodstock Open Air Pool is a much loved facility amongst local residents and visitors in the summertime, providing a fantastic setting for swimming lessons and fun family swimming sessions.
“This summer, swimmers can look forward to a range of exciting activities, including diving lessons, pool party sessions, learn to swim courses, and the highly favoured ‘bring your dog for a swim’ session at the end of the season.
"By opening the facility for an exclusive six-week period we have been able to reduce costs and significantly lower our carbon footprint, allowing us to protect our wider leisure services as the cost of running the services has hugely increased over recent times.
“A huge thank you goes out to the Better Leisure team for their outstanding dedication and meticulous planning in preparing the pool for public use. Our partnership has enabled us to offer an exceptional summer experience at Woodstock Open Air Pool and our other fantastic leisure facilities throughout the district.”
Lewis Brain, General Manager of Woodstock Open Air Pool, said, “We’re extremely pleased to finally be nearing the opening of Woodstock Open Air Pool. A lot of hard work has gone on behind the scenes to get the facility ready for an exciting 6 weeks ahead.
“This season we have a fun-filled programme on offer to ensure that the community and local residents have a facility that they can rely on to enjoy their time during the summer holidays.
“To complement this, we will be opening the pool on Saturday the 22nd July with activities starting from 12pm which will include food/drink stands, pizza van (which will arrive around 1pm), bouncy castle, face painting music and much more.
“Please make sure you come along and get involved and hopefully enjoy the sunshine at the same time.”
The pool will open over a 6-week period, until Sunday 3rd September, with full opening times and information to be made available on the Better website soon. Walk-ins are available but to avoid disappointment, we encourage you to book in advance to secure your slot.
