Council continues long-term investment in community organisations with new £555,000 funding programme
West Oxfordshire District Council has launched a new three-year Community Services Investment Fund, providing £555,000 to support organisations delivering projects that help communities, nature and the climate across the district.
Councillor Sandra Coleman, Executive Member for Stronger, Healthy Communities, said: "By providing longer-term funding, we're giving organisations greater confidence to plan ahead, develop their services and continue making a real difference to residents. We encourage both new applicants and existing grant recipients to apply and we look forward to supporting projects that will benefit our West Oxfordshire communities for years to come."
The programme builds on the council's first three-year Service Level Agreement Programme, introduced in 2024, which committed more than £500,000 to seven organisations delivering eight programmes of work across West Oxfordshire. Those funding agreements will conclude in March 2027.
Following the programme's success, the council approved a new three-year fund in March 2026 to provide continued funding stability ahead of Local Government Reorganisation while supporting its priorities around legacy, excellence and innovation.
Funding will be available across three priority areas: Climate Resilience, Nature Recovery and Community Wellbeing. Organising the programme in this way will help ensure funded projects respond to local needs and deliver real benefits for West Oxfordshire residents.
Applications are open to large scale eligible voluntary and community organisations, registered and excepted charities, Community Interest Companies and independent statutory bodies in appropriate circumstances. Both organisations that have received funding previously and those applying for the first time are encouraged to apply.
Successful organisations will receive funding from April 2027 as part of the new three-year programme.
