Bulky waste

Full bulky waste collection service now available

Residents can now access the full bulky waste service.

Bulky waste collections were originally suspended due to Covid-19 before a limited service was re-introduced at the end of April.

Now all items including beds, mattresses, sofas and carpets will be collected from Thursday 14 May as well as furniture, white goods and large electrical items.

Cllr Norman MacRae, Cabinet Member for the Environment, said: “We know that many residents have been struggling to dispose of excess waste during lockdown and there have been concerns over fly-tipping so this service will be very welcome.

“Our waste resources have experienced huge demand during the Covid-19 period and I would like to thank the Council team and operatives from our contractor Ubico for their hard work and determination to make this happen.”

The bulky waste teams will be operating to strict Government guidelines on social distancing.
